Winter [Christmas] Celebration (16 December 2014 at Roaming)

Picture

Christmas is recognised by some of us at Roaming whilst some prefer to celebrate midwinter in other ways. However, we had a special meal on 11th December to which we invited our directors and advisors. We cooked vegan lasagne which we ate with jacket potatoes and salad. We also made apple crumble from Michael’s homegrown apples and Nancy brought along a whole community of gingerbread people.

Otherwise December has been much as usual with people coming along on Thursdays to meet together, be creative and eat lunch. We have plans for the New Year including visiting artists, field trips and an Open Day that is pencilled in for Thursday 12th February, 10-2.

Thank you

Roaming Penzance wish to say a very big THANK YOU to all our funders past and present and also to everyone who generously donated to our match funding campaign (and since) that took place between March and June this year. Thanks to His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales Duke of Cornwall. Also, thank you to people who have supported us in kind with art materials, food, voluntary time, raffle prizes and even our insurance bill. Thanks to St.Petroc’s who allow us continued use of the space in which we meet. Without all of you Roaming Penzance would not exist.

Day at Porthmeor Studio 11 – thanks to Shallal (July 9th 2015)

Shallal are in residence at Porthmeor Studio 11, St.Ives for 3 months and invited us to spend a day there with artist Laura Menzies. We had a very happy day doing pretty  much what we usually do at Breadline on Thursdays. We went out for a fantastic curry and salad lunch at the Farmer’s Market in the Guild Hall where we fell into a discussion about who we might like to invite to the group as visiting artists in terms of skills we would like to learn. These seemed to focus on survival skills and included people who could teach us foraging, bodging, weaving with rushes, building shelters, charcoal burning, whittling and creating an earth oven.
